Marshmallow Pops New Years Treat

You don’t get any more simple then Marshmallow Pops. Basically you have 2 ingredients, marshmallows and chocolate. You probably have both in your pantry right now.

What is cool about marshmallow pops is how simple they are to make and you can turn the kids loose! You just never know what you are going to get!

For the “recipe” purposes I used the Wilton candy melts. You can find these at Walmart, Target, Michaels, Hobby Lobby and more. Most of the time I just use simple almond bark from Walmart. It is usually on the top shelf in the baking aisle above the chocolate chips. It is a little cheaper than the candy melts and I honestly think they melt a little better (the almond bark).

But use what you have on hand!

* Ok wait, one more tip. I often have the candy melts because they are the ones that go on clearance for each holiday. Like I picked up a bunch of red and green at Christmas to use for Valentines Day and Easter. You won’t find sales on Almond bark.

Marshmallow Pops 2 Ingredients

Just melt your candy melts or almond bark according to directions. Stick the end of your stick in the chocolate and stick it in the marshmallow, this will keep it on the stick. Then you dip in the white first to give it a good coating.

When the white chocolate is still wet, you can roll them in the sprinkles and they will stick. The kids ate them too fast to get a good luck at the ones I dipped in silver sparkles. It is nice to have a mix of different colors and sprinkles.

You can also use the white (or any color) to write on the pops, creating a message like the “2014″ I did above. When writing on them, it is best to not cover them in sprinkles first. Just a tip from my kids :)

Now, the Wilton prices on Amazon are a good price. The Almond bark however, is lower at your Walmart or grocery store. Just a heads up!
